About Me
I am a freelance video editor who has experience using multiple different editing software’s such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Avid Media Composer.
After years of making my own personal YouTube video’s for fun I quickly realized that this was the sort of career I wanted when I grow up. Since then I have studied film and TV production at College and then gone on further to understand how this crazy industry operates by studying Film Production at University.
Film making is my passion!
I LOVE FILMS! What can I say?, Which meant that during my time at College whenever I wasn’t creating content as part of my coursework I would often find myself producing my own short films during my spare time. I quickly became known by the entire media department as the most aspiring filmmaker on campus out of my entire class. Throughout my three years I managed to direct and edit together 4 unique short films which looking back now are far from perfect. However as any filmmaker will tell you that films are a tiring and stressful process no matter how big or small the production is. The point I’m trying to get across here is that I learnt from a lot of the flaws I made in those earlier films and they ultimately demonstrate how far my editing skills have evolved from then to now when compared to some of my most recent projects I’ve worked on which you can check out for yourself here.
I won some Awards!
In June 2016, at the end of my three year course, Bexhill Sixth Form College hosted their awards evening which was dedicated to awarding certain students for their achievements throughout the academic year. Which is when I managed to take home three awards that night all for the following achievements…
Best Live TV Show Award: - Myself and the rest of my production team received this award due to the fact that we managed to produce a professional looking live Broadcast TV show while meeting a strict deadline.
Best Music Video Award: - This award was given to me and my two other crew members I worked with when producing, filming and editing a unique looking music video together. I was responsible for the editing of the music video which was one of the reasons why we won the award out of everyone else. You can watch the music video for yourself right here
Outstanding Achievement Award: - I was given this award due to the immense amount of hard work I had done throughout my time studying BTEC Media Level 2 and 3 at Bexhill College. This was not only down to me completing all my assignments on time and to a good standard but also because I would personally go out of my way to create my own short films in my spare time while at college. My tutors took note of this and saw how much passion I had for not just the course but the film industry as a whole.
I graduated from University with a Bachelors Degree in Film!
In July 2019 I successfully graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a second class Honours Degree in Film Production after three years of continuous hard work. In that time I have worked with many clients and have a much broader understanding as to how the film industry operates including what would be expected of me when pursuing my role of one day becoming a full time Video Editor in the industry.
